News

We are optimistic that the worst of COVID is past and the coming summer will be fantastic. Let’s hope the weather is as good as last year!

We have used the lockdown to upgrade a lot of this charming building, including a big improvement to the bar rooms, re-instating the fireplace (with logburner) in the large lounge, adding some fine antique furniture..

Have you ever had to wait so long for a pint? On Saturday 4th July we hope to welcome you back. We are doing all we can to keep within covid19 best practice, and running a pub with social distancing will be interesting. On the 4th daytime we will be serving drinks only. Meals will be served in the evening, reservations strongly advised. Then food and drink as normal from Sunday, though not a Sunday Roast on the 5th. We plan to open our rooms for B&B as well from the 4th, though there has been no government advice (..what a useless bunch...). Please keep watching the news and checking our website for updates, but fingers crossed we will be open very soon. You can book rooms online from the 4th, and we have altered out cancellation policy so that all new bookings are fully refundable as long as you let us know more than 7 days in advance.

Re-opening?

Posted: June 8th, 2020

It looks likely that the Badger Bar and Restaurant will re-open on 4th July. The hotel may not open then, but should be open soon after, we hope. This all of course depends on government advice. It is even possible the beer garden here may open later in June. Whenever we open, it will be great to have customers back again.

CLOSED

The hotel and Badger Bar are now closed until further notice. Anyone with a room booking is welcome to re-book with us when we re-open. We will keep your deposit safe and this can be used as a credit for a new booking. Sorry, we cannot issue refunds because this would threaten our business survival, now that we have no income at all. Thankyou for your understanding and we hope to see you all in more normal times fairly soon....
