Xmas & New Year

Enjoy a picture perfect Christmas in the heart of the Lake District. With roaring log fires in the bar and someone else doing all the cooking and washing up, all you have to do is relax in the stunning surroundings. There is a good chance of snow on the high fells, and the certainty of mulled wine on the bar. No formality here, just a friendly and laid back country inn atmosphere. Go on bracing walks or do nothing except over-indulge, it’s all fine by us.

We are open every day from 24th December

Christmas Day 3 course Christmas dinner for residents and non-residents (menu on the food page). UPDATE 24TH December: Following a cancellation we have a few spaces left. If you book a room (just 3 or 4 left) we will have a table for you.

Just a few rooms left now over Christmas and New Year, escape while you can! Book rooms as normal on the booking system. There may be a minimum of 2 or 3 nights, depending on the date.

New Year’s Eve: The Inn will be open for you to enjoy a convivial end to the year. The log fires will be burning and the fairy lights twinkling as the clock ticks down to midnight. No rowdy entertainment, just a traditional Inn full of merry customers. Bar meals served as usual.
